Happy Birthday Dearest!

We celebrated Ron's Birthday at our house with a few friends...just food and good conversation!

We had some tasty pizzas (chicken/taco bbq and proscuito/feta), stuffed b.l.t. tomatoes, strawberry walnut salad, homemade limeaide and angel food cake ....there were fantastic cards to read and gifts to open, a little cutie to make us all smile, candelight for our lightless-living-room, beachy tunes, crayons and paper tablecloth to sketch on... and my very own amazing  young chap, in a sparkly green birthday crown (with no evidence of that to be found!).

It was so much fun to entertain (for once!) and try some new recipes, and everything worked out well! I love our friends, you all made it a great evening in and a perfect way to celebrate a birthday!

Ron, you make me so happy and you deserve soooo much happiness. I hope this year is your favorite one yet!

New Years Eve

We played Apples to Apples, Taboo, 100, and Scattergories. We ate Fish and Chicken leftovers from the wedding (fish was Veeerry chewy!), salad, chocolate cake, cheesecakes, candy and more candy. Then New Years came and nobody even stood up. It was a good night.

ps. I really like how my camera takes black and whites, as in the top photo. I think I prefer it to the way it looks when I turn a colour into a black and white on my computer, as in the lower photo (although I did choose to make it more of a high-contrast black & white)
But for some reason I just really like that top pic of Andrew and Sonya playing Taboo.

Boys House

We had a nice evening there last night, a barbeque and then just watching them groove. I had fun playing with my camera...Dont these just give such a vibe of being at "The Boy's" house??

Guitars Galore

This guy is an excellent guitar player. He recorded an album and he writes songs that are quite impressive. And he was very good at being photographed with no complaining!

The others, well, they just didn't know they were being photographed...

Shower Games

My ideas so far for the shower coming up. MY ideas, who am I kidding... bridalshower.com's ideas.

Broom & Roll
This is a partner game. one person hold a roll of toilet paper between the knees. The other person holds a broom or stick between the knees while thier eyes are covered or blindfolded.

The person with the toilet paper graps their partner hands and guide them to getting the stick in the hole of the toilet paper. The partners who does it in the fastest time wins. This can be done one at a time or pair up the partners to see who wins first.

Design the dress
in teams design something out of either toilet paper or butcher paper or something... or a sketch? Bride judges etc.

Questions about Groom
have questions answered about groom before-hand. At party, hand out questions that people can ask in order. Every time she is wrong she puts gum in her mouth. Could also put the questions in balloons to be popped.

Apron gift & memory game
Buy an apron and have the bridal party buy lots of utensils to pin on the apron. Make them practical and a couple of things they would never think of buying until they need them. Pin all of the items on the apron. Have the bride wear the apron in front of all of the guests. Have her walk around the room for about 2 minutes. Then have the bride go into another room and have the guests try to list as many things as they can remember seeing pinned to the brides apron. The person with the most wins! Then tell the bride she gets to keep the apron!!
